Orion Clemens (July 17, 1825 – December 11, 1897) was the first and only Secretary of the Nevada Territory. His younger brother Samuel Langhorne Clemens became a famous author under the pen name Mark Twain.

Clemens, Orion (1825–1897) Short Biography. SLC’s older brother Orion (pronounced O´-ree-ən) was born in Gainesboro, Tennessee. After the Clemens family’s move to Hannibal, Missouri, he was apprenticed to a printer.
In 1842, seventeen-year-old Orion Clemens left his home in Hannibal and went downriver to St. Louis, where he took a job as a journeyman printer in Thomas Ustick's print shop.
