For more than 58 years PCPA - Pacific conservatory Theatre has been presenting exemplary theatre and providing excellent training with a resident company of theatre professionals. Begun in the summer of 1964, founder Donovan Marley laid the ground work for a year-round professional theatre company.
Pacific Conservatory Theatre’s professional Acting and Technical Theatre programs are fully accredited career and technical education (CTE) programs of Allan Hancock College. Students admitted to the programs receive instruction from theatre professionals, apply knowledge and gain experience within the context of the producing professional theatre.
Multiple students were “asked not to return” for a single failed assignment and they offered little to no-grace while simultaneously expecting students to work 40-60hr weeks in the shops/shows. Outside jobs were not allowed and if you aren’t from the area housing is fairly costly. Be prepared to advocate for yourself.

A strong foundation. The conservatory offers 11 imaginative undergraduate and graduate degree programs as well as music minors. Our courses provide a strong foundation in musicianship; supportive one-to-one instruction in instrumental, jazz, piano and vocal areas; and a broad range of performing ensembles.
