3 giorni fa · The purely non-socialist, conservative-led government of Pehr Evind Svinhufvud was appointed on 27 November. This nomination was both a long-term aim of the conservatives and a response to the challenges of the labour movement during November 1917.

3 giorni fa · The matter was discussed on December 8, 1917, at the Estonian Council of Elders, where Jaan Raamot spoke about the positive attitude of Pehr Evind Svinhufvud, Speaker of the Senate of Finland. In his speech to the Council of Elders, Estonian Politician Konstantin Päts supported the Union and welcomed the idea.
2 mag 2024 · The monarchistic Senate that ruled the country since May 1918 had made Pehr Evind Svinhufvud the temporary head of state until a monarch was selected. The Parliament on 8 October 1918 elected the German Prince Friedrich Karl von Hessen (1868-1940) as the new King of Finland.

Both families originate from Kopparberget in Dalarna, and one would imagine that they have a common origin.
