Peter Watts is a former Canadian marine biologist, convicted felon, and award-winning author of science fiction novels. The holder of several degrees, including a Ph.D from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Watts has held a number of academic research and teaching positions, and worked as a marine-mammal biologist.
