Philip of Orléans, Count of Vertus (French: Philippe d'Orléans, comte de Vertus, 21/24 July 1396 – 1 September 1420), was the second son of Louis I, Duke of Orléans, and Valentina Visconti, and a grandson of Charles V of France.

Early life. Philip of Valois-Burgundy was born on 31 July 1396 in Dijon, France as the fourth child and first son of John, Count of Nevers (later Duke of Burgundy known as "John the Fearless"; 1371–1419) and his wife and consort, born Margaret of Bavaria (1363–1424). [1] .

Biography. Born 13 March 1372, [1] Louis was the second son of King Charles V of France and Joanna of Bourbon and was the younger brother of Charles VI.
