11 apr 2023 · The AMD Phoenix support for Coreboot has been worked on for several months already -- it's what started out as the AMD Morgana SoC. The Coreboot Morgana code was renamed to Phoenix earlier this year following the CES 2023 keynote where AMD formally announced these new Ryzen Mobile processors that will begin appearing in laptop designs over the coming weeks.

28 apr 2024 · I haven't seen any public list of what current Zen 4 processors support Fast CPPC, but given the kernel patch comments it's at least found with select Phoenix APUs like the Ryzen 7 7840HS. The posted kernel patches allow the CPU frequency transition delay to be lowered from 1000 us to 600 us on systems with fast CPPC support.

5 ago 2024 · The Linux 6.12 merge window opens in September but the stable release won't be out until around late November, which sadly puts AMDXDNA out of reach for the likes of Ubuntu 24.10 for having out-of-the-box Ryzen AI NPU support. Long story short, hopefully in 2025 we'll be seeing a more robust and out-of-the-box AMD NPU/AI experience on Linux.
