Pope Clement XIV (Latin: Clemens XIV; Italian: Clemente XIV; 31 October 1705 – 22 September 1774), born Giovanni Vincenzo Antonio Ganganelli, was head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from 19 May 1769 to his death in September 1774.

CLEMENTE XIV, Papa. Giovanni Vincenzo Ganganelli nacque il 30 ottobre 1705 in Sant'Arcangelo presso Rimini, da un medico di villaggio. Nel 1723 eutrava in un convento di francescani scalzi di Rimini; e il 17 maggio dello stesso anno, con il nome di fra Lorenzo, entrava nell'ordine dei minori conventuali di Urbino.
Clement XIV (born Oct. 31, 1705, near Rimini, Papal States —died Sept. 22, 1774, Rome) was the pope from 1769 to 1774. Educated by the Jesuits at Rimini, he joined the Conventual Franciscans at Mondaino, taking the religious name of Lorenzo.
