Prior Park is unapologetically not just an exam factory – our students leave with much more than just GCSEs and A Levels. Prior is a selective school, but in a broader sense – our intake is made up not only from students who show great potential in the traditional academic subjects, but also from future artists, sports people, actors, musicians, and leaders.
In 1830 Prior Park College opened as a school for the first time. The College Chapel was built in the 1870's and designed by Joseph Scoles in the tradition of a Roman Basilica. Named Our Lady of the Snows, some parts were never completed, such as the columns at the western end. There have been two major fires during the Mansion's history.

On foot 1 mile uphill (very steep) walk from rear of railway station: cross river, pass Widcombe shopping parade, turn right onto Prior Park Road at White Hart pub, proceed uphill, garden on left.
At Prior Park College we are proud of our Sixth Form, seeing it as a time of preparation for adult life and transition from school to university or the world of work. It is a period of more personalised academic exploration and our curriculum offer provides ample opportunity for all students to develop their unique gifts and talents.

Boarding at Prior Park College. Our boys are based in St Paul's whilst our girls are based in The Priory. Up to 150 full, weekly and flexi boarders live in the family atmosphere provided by our Houses. Our boarders are made up of British and international students. Junior boarders (Years 7 & 8) have their own areas within the boarding houses.
