Real Gone is the sixteenth studio album by Tom Waits, released October 4, 2004 in Europe, and October 5 in United States on the ANTI-label. The album was supported by the Real Gone Tour , playing sold out locations in North America and Europe in October and November 2004.

Sausage. In 1988 Claypool began a short-lived alternative/funk rock band featuring Todd Huth on guitar and Jay Lane on drums. The group released their first album in April 1994 "Riddles Are Abound Tonight" by Prawn Song Records, and did a few short tours and opened for groups such as Helmet, Rollins Band, and Slayer.

Si sapeva da qualche tempo che Waits avrebbe lavorato, oltre che con il fedelissimo Marc Ribot, anche con Brian Mantia e Les Claypool dei Primus; inoltre, era certa la decisiva e costante presenza della moglie Kathleen Brennan, cui doveva aggiungersi quella del figlio X Casey Waits.
