È ambientata inizialmente nel carcere di Fox River, Joliet ( Illinois ), Chicago e Washington, in seguito in vari stati del territorio statunitense, in Messico e a Panama, per concludere a Los Angeles e Miami.

S2.E1 ∙ The Pact. On March 16 2001, two convicted killers mail themselves to freedom. William Davis and Douglas Gray, both serving life sentences in a Springtown, Oklahoma prison, use their privileged jobs making road signs in the workshop to plan an ingenious escape.
