31 lug 2019 · “The Red Sea Diving Resort” tells the true story of a group of Mossad agents in the early ‘80s who rescued hundreds of Jewish-Ethiopian refugees though Sudan and then back to Israel. The tone of the film is set by its opening scene, in which we watch Ethiopians fleeing gun-toting villains to nearby trucks. Of course, a child is missing.
31 lug 2019 · The Red Sea Diving Resort kann oder will sich nicht entscheiden, was der Film sein will und ist auf diese Weise am Ende vieles – und irgendwie nichts. Ein Film, der einem ganz nahe gehen will, auch mit den obligatorischen Texttafeln zum Schluss. Ein Film, der einen dabei aber auch etwas kalt lässt.
10 mag 2022 · The Red Sea Diving Resort wil graag een film zijn die een serieus onderwerp op zorgvuldige wijze behandelt, maar dit is toch vooral een avontuurlijk verhaal over een stel geheime agenten die in Sudan veel Ethiopische Joden weten te redden door een risicovolle operatie. Spannend en hard, maar er zitten soms ook wat grappige momenten in de film.
