Reinhold Begas (15 July 1831 – 3 August 1911) was a German sculptor . Biography. Begas was born in Berlin, son of the painter Carl Joseph Begas. He received his early education (1846–1851) studying under Christian Daniel Rauch and Ludwig Wilhelm Wichmann.

Reinhold Gottlieb August Theodor [1] Begas (* 15. Juli 1831 in Berlin [1]; † 3. August 1911 ebenda) war ein deutscher Bildhauer der Berliner Schule. Er schuf unter anderem das Schiller-Denkmal (1871), das Alexander-von-Humboldt-Denkmal (1882), das Kaiser-Wilhelm-Nationaldenkmal (1897) und das Bismarck-Nationaldenkmal (1901) in Berlin.

Begas began studying sculpture with the leading figures of the Berlin school of sculptors, notably Gottfried Schadow and Christian Daniel Rauch.
