Richard Burbage (c. 1567 – 13 March 1619) was an English stage actor, widely considered to have been one of the most famous actors of the Globe Theatre and of his time. In addition to being a stage actor , he was also a theatre owner, entrepreneur, and painter.

Richard Burbage achieved success as performer by the age of twenty and during his career he appeared in plays by Jonson, Kyd, Beaumont and Fletcher, and John Webster. He also played many of the major Shakespearean characters, including Othello, Hamlet, Lear, and Richard III.

Attore (Londra 1567 circa - ivi 1619), figlio di James B. che fece costruire (1577) e diresse il London Theatre e poi il Blackfriars Theatre (1596). Ai due teatri ereditati, con i fratelli, dal padre (1597), aggiunse poi il Globe che, distrutto da un incendio nel 1613, fu subito riedificato.
