Robert FitzEdith, feudal lord of Okehampton (1093–1172) was an illegitimate son of Henry I of England and Edith Forne, who was a mistress of Henry I. [1] Compared to many of his illegitimate siblings and half-siblings, not much is known about him.
26 apr 2022 · Robert fitz Edith, Baron of Okenhampton was born illegitimately in 1093.2 He was the son of Henry I 'Beauclerc', King of England and Edith Sigulfson.1 He married Matilda d'Avranches, Dame du Sap, daughter of Robert d'Avranches.3 He died on 31 May 1172.1.

By 1130, he owned land in Devon, and is listed on the Pipe Role for 1129/1130. During the Civil War, he was on the side of his half-sister Matilda.
