Rod Reisman (1973 – 1973) Devo is an American rock group formed in Akron, Ohio, United States in 1972. The band split in 1991 and returned in 1996. The band currently consists of Gerald Casale (vocals, bass), Mark Mothersbaugh (vocals, synthesizer), Bob Mothersbaugh (guitar) and Josh Freese (drums).
Formed in Akron, Ohio, in 1973 by Bob Casale, Gerald Casale, Bob Lewis, Rod Reisman, and Fred Weber, the band Devo is frequently described as art rock or post-punk. Devo is most often remembered for its New Wave sound, which ushered in 1980s synth pop.
