A lot of the album was inspired by the covid pandemic which interrupted Florence's writing of the album, and also explores Florence's relationship with music and how it conflicts with her personal life but also brings her so much joy. Florence described it as a fairytale in 14 songs and theres a sort of cyclical story running throughout.
