Ruth Hale Oliver (April 16, 1910 – October 3, 1988) was an American astrologer, astrology teacher, writer, and occasional actress. She was born in Philadelphia to L. Stauffer Oliver, an attorney (born in New Jersey) and Margaret H. Scott (born in England). She was married to George Gercke in 1931 and divorced in 1940.

Hale. Oliver. Actress and co-author of the book Astro-Psychiatry (1968) and a well known Hollywood astrologer. She is best known for portraying the Library Ghost in the 1984 blockbuster film Ghostbusters. She was the daughter of L. Stauffer Oliver, a judge in Philadelphia, and Margaret Hunter Scott Oliver.
Actress: Sarah's Child. Ruth Hale thought of herself as predominantly a writer, and she wrote over 70 plays, but she was better known as an actress and theatre owner. Starting with her husband Nathan, she and her family founded community theatres in California, Utah, and Arizona.
