Samuel Phillip Gyimah (/ ˈ dʒ iː m ɑː /; born 10 August 1976) is a British politician and banker who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for East Surrey from 2010 to 2019. First elected as a Conservative , Gyimah rebelled against the government to block a no-deal Brexit and had the Conservative whip removed in September 2019 .

Sam Gyimah is a non-executive director of Goldman Sachs International (Investment Bank) and Goldman Sachs International Bank (Consumer Bank, including Marcus). Sam was formerly the Member of Parliament for East Surrey from 2010 through to 2019.
Sam Gyimah was a minister between 2013 and 2018, serving in five different departments. He was most recently minister of state for prisons (2016–18) and minister of state for universities, science, research and innovation (2018). He was the Conservative (and later Liberal Democrat) MP for East Surrey between 2010 and 2019.
