3. George Leslie Goebel (May 20, 1919 – February 24, 1991) was an American humorist, actor, and comedian. [1] He was best known as the star of his own weekly comedy variety television series, The George Gobel Show, on NBC from 1954 to 1959 and on CBS from 1959 to 1960 [1] (alternating in its last season with The Jack Benny Program ).
But his true love was show business, which he pursued in a vaudeville act with his brother Paul, and later joined pianist Franz Rath in an act they took to San Francisco, "A Man, a Piano, and a Nut." After four years, in 1914 he formed a light comedy act with his new wife Edna Louise Bloedt, "Frawley and Louise," touring the Orpheum and Keith vaudeville circuits until they divorced in 1927.
Winnie Lightner (born Winifred Josephine Reeves; [2] September 17, 1899 – March 5, 1971) was an American stage and motion picture actress. [3] Perhaps best known as the man-hungry Mabel in Gold Diggers of Broadway (1929), Lightner was often typecast as a wise-cracking gold-digger and was known for her talents as a comedian and singer.

On August 10, 1979, Foran died aged 69 of respiratory ailments and pneumonia in Burbank, California. He was buried in the San Fernando Mission Cemetery. Recognition.
