Schedules are subject to change. General Dress Code All students on the girls training track are required to wear leotards in the color designated for their class.

SAB’s National Visiting Fellows Program is geared towards dance educators passionate about serving students of color and/or underrepresented communities. During the Fellows Program, participants will meet with SAB leadership to discuss diversity and inclusion in ballet.
SAB’s annual Workshop Performances are a public demonstration of the continuing tradition of excellence fostered at the School. Dozens of advanced students and a selection of Children’s Division students participate each year in the School’s Workshop, which culminates in three spring performances at Lincoln Center’s Peter Jay Sharp Theater with costumes, lights, and live orchestra.

The School and NYCB. The creation of the New York City Ballet in 1948 is a milestone in the history of the School of American Ballet, for it marked the realization of George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein’s primary goal in founding SAB: to create an American ballet company. Since then, the School and NYCB have been intimately linked.
Pre-Professional Division. The American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School is a pre-professional ballet training program for students, ages 12-18. Under the direction of Artistic Director Stella Abrera, students thrive in an elite atmosphere dedicated to the success of each student. Admission is by audition only.
