Shaka, a volte scritto anche Chaka, Tshaka o Tchaka (Melmoth, 1787 circa – Stranger, 22 settembre 1828), è stato il fondatore e primo sovrano dell'Impero Zulu. Sotto la sua guida gli Zulu estesero il loro dominio su una grande parte dell'Africa meridionale compresa fra i fiumi Phongolo e Mzimkhulu.

29 giu 2008 · Shaka Zulu established the Zulu Empire and revolutionized warfare in Southern Africa in the early 19th Century. Shaka was born in 1787. His father, Senzangakhona, was a minor chief of one of the Zulu-speaking clans and his mother, Nandi, was daughter of Chief Mbhengi of the rival clan.
