We want Shawlands Academy to excel as a nurturing, caring and diverse school working in partnership with parents / carers and our whole school community. We aim to provide the highest quality education and support possible for all our learners and their families.
Shawlands Academy was Glasgow's designated International School and one of Scotland's most multicultural schools. It was situated in Shawlands, between Pollok Park (and its Burrell Collection) and Queen's Park. Shawlands Academy had around 1,250 students and over 100 teachers.

14 feb 2024 · Shawlands Academy can be found in the Southside of Glasgow and is considered to be one of Scotland's most multicultural schools. The school that we know today first opened its doors in 1894 in a nearby building on Pollokshaws Road which now houses Shawlands Primary School.

Shawlands Academy is a large, non denominational school situated on the south side of Glasgow, in Scotland. The pupils here number around 1360. It is a long established school dating from 1894. There was a private school of the same name located in Skirving Street which began about 1857.

Welcome to Shawlands Academy, a school where we take pride in the education we offer. Last session our young people attained outstanding examination results. Year on year our students have excelled, improving on the previous years’ results and making us one of the very top schools in Glasgow.
23 mag 2023 · A GLASGOW school where “diversity is celebrated widely” has been given a positive report card by education inspectors. Shawlands Academy headteacher Pauline Carr paid tribute to the whole school community after the Education Scotland team’s findings were published.
