Nel 1373 o 1374 Siemowit III cedette il ducato di Varsavia al figlio Siemowit IV (1352-1426) e quello di Rawa al figlio Giano I (1346-1429). Intraprese inoltre una serie di riforme: promulgò nel 1377 un diritto consuetudinario e rivide l'amministrazione pubblica, la giustizia e il sistema monetario.
