Mew is a Danish alternative rock band made up of Jonas Bjerre (lead vocals), Johan Wohlert (bass) and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen (drums). Wohlert left the band in 2006 before the birth of his first child, but made a return in 2013 while the band were in the studio, before making his first live appearances since his departure in 2014.

Bandet begyndte at spille musik sammen i syvende klasse på Bernadotteskolen, da de skulle lave et kunstprojekt og valgte at lave en film om menneskets ødelæggelse af naturen. De fik lavet filmen, men de havde også selv komponeret musikken til filmen. I 1995 blev Mew dannet i Hellerup, og de indspillede en demo om sommeren samme år.

The final title is the lyrics to the short intermezzo 'Hawaii Dream', and when Bo [Madsen] suggested that we used the complete text as a title it didn't take him long to convince Silas [Utke Graae Jørgensen] and myself. It was like finding the missing piece in a puzzle".
The resultant record feels like a culmination for one of rock’s most ambitious and inventive groups: Visuals is where Bjerre and his bandmates, bassist Johan Wohlert and drummer Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen, join the dots of a career that has spanned over two decades.
