Al numero uno dei posti da non perdere c'è sicuramente la chiesa di Boyana, un piccolo gioiello medievale che conserva un ciclo di affreschi della metà del XIII secolo, patrimonio inestimabile che dal 1979 fa parte dei beni protetti dall'Unesco.
