Spencer Frederick Gore (26 May 1878 – 27 March 1914) was a British painter of landscapes, music-hall scenes and interiors, usually with single figures. He was the first president of the Camden Town Group, and was influenced by the Post-Impressionists.
Spencer ('Freddie') Gore died only aged 35 of pneumonia just before the First World War in 1914. A promising student at the Slade School of Art, he became a very close friend of Walter Sickert and was right at the centre of the Fitzroy and Camden Town groups that also included Harold Gilman and Charles Ginner.
