Larry Bolsover's body is discovered by the police. Spindoe goes to see a private detective Ray Scaliger to get evidence of his wife's adultery and to tell him who is visiting Edwards. When he returns to Bolsover's flat, he finds the police there who tell him of Bolsover's death.
