There is no denying that since its release Spirited Away has had an enormous impact on the world of animation, but I think its biggest impact is seen in the fans.

On the other hand, its saving is interpreted as the saving of the environment. Most of the illustrations given in the film in relation to the environment are symbolic. For instance, Haku is shown to symbolize the natural element.
