Die St George’s Chapel ist eine Kollegiatstiftskirche in Windsor Castle in Großbritannien. Sie gilt als eines der Hauptwerke des Perpendicular Style. [1] Als King’s Free Chapel ist sie Eigenkirche der britischen Monarchen und dient als Kapelle des Hosenbandordens sowie als Grablege für zahlreiche Angehörige der Königsfamilie.
Die St. George’s Chapel ist ein klassisches Beispiel für die englische Gotik mit ihrem perpendikularen Stil. Bis 1483 wurden die Chorscheiben und das Dach fertiggestellt. Im Jahr 1496 folgte das Kirchenschiff. Die Fertigstellung des Gewölbes dauerte jedoch bis 1528. Die Kapelle wurde zwischen 1921 und 1930 restauriert.
