St. Mac Dara’s is a Community College that functions under the patronage of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board. St Mac Dara’s C.C. is a multi-denominational mixed school.
The campaign for a second-level school in St. Jude’s Parish, Willington, was led by Rev.Fr. Boland, P.P. in the early 1980s. The Community College, a new concept at that time, involving the County Dublin V.E.C. and the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin, was the model selected.
St Mac Dara’s Community College is an ETB school. We are part of the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB). What is ETB School Ethos? St. Mac Dara's Community College is a coeducational school within the County Dublin Vocational Education Committee. Established in 1982, it has a current enrolment of 793 - 507 boys and 286 girls. Most of the students come from the immediate area but a small number travel from distances as far as twenty miles.
