St Mary's Hospital Medical School. Coordinates: 51°31′3.3″N 0°10′23.8″W. St Mary's Hospital Medical School was the youngest of the constituent medical schools of Imperial College School of Medicine, founded in 1854 as part of the new hospital in Paddington.

Until 1988 the hospital ran St Mary's Hospital Medical School, part of the federal University of London. In 1988 it merged with Imperial College London , and then with Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1997 to form Imperial College School of Medicine .
1854 - St Mary's Hospital Medical School established. St Mary's Hospital was opened in 1851 by Samuel Lane, surgeon and anatomist, and from its inception was intended to be a teaching hospital. The Medical School was founded in 1854, with the number of students soon rising to 40.

The distinguished history of St Mary’s Hospital Medical School has often been characterised by a great number of famous teachers, researchers and administrators. One notable and innovative Dean, 1920-1945, Lord Moran (Charles McMoran Wilson) was also Winston Churchill’s personal physician 1940-1965.

The original St Mary's Hospital. The medical school at Imperial College dates back to the founding of Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in 1823, which was followed by other medical schools including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Medical School, St Mary's Hospital Medical School, and the Royal Postgraduate Medical School.
