29 gen 2024 · St Mirin's Academy was a Roman Catholic senior secondary school for boys founded in 1922 in Paisley, Scotland and dedicated to St Mirin, the patron saint of the town and of the Diocese of Paisley. The original buildings were in East Buchanan Street next to St Mirin's Church. In 1933 the school relocated to new buildings in Renfrew Road.

By Thomas Griffen. I would like to write about St. Charles School, which I remember as if it were only yesterday that I went there, although it was from 1941 – 48. In 1948, then aged 12, I was transferred to St. Mirins Academy. I remember St. Charles vividly because of the cruelty of the teachers – it will always remain in my memory.
Since the closure of St Mirin's and St Margaret's High School (formerly St Mirin's Academy) in 2001, there has been no school in the town dedicated to the saint. However, there is a St Mirin's Primary School in the Simshill area of the neighbouring city of Glasgow.
St Mirin's Academy ceased to exist in 1976 when it amalgamated with St Margaret's Senior Secondary (a girls' school) to become St Mirin's and St Margaret's High School, which moved into the buildings of the former John Neilson High School in 1990, and in turn was supplanted by St Andrews Academy in 2001; there has been no school in the town of Paisley named after St Mirin since then.
