Stargate SG-1 (abbreviato solitamente in SG-1 o SG1) è una serie televisiva statunitense basata sul film Stargate del 1994, scritto da Dean Devlin e Roland Emmerich e diretto da quest'ultimo. Emmerich aveva inizialmente l'intenzione di realizzare altri due film, creando così una trilogia di Stargate .

Stargate SG-1 is a television spin-off of Roland Emmerich's 1994 film Stargate. The series was developed for television by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner, who together wrote the two-hour pilot episode "Children of the Gods".
La prima stagione della serie televisiva di fantascienza Stargate SG-1 è composta da 22 episodi e venne trasmessa per la prima volta negli Stati Uniti dal 27 luglio 1997 al 6 marzo 1998 sulla rete televisiva Showtime. In Italia la serie fu trasmessa su Telemontecarlo dal 19 settembre 1999 al 6 febbraio 2000 .
