At the core of the Center for the Arts, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting has trained thousands of actors since its founding in 1949. Dance. The Harold Clurman Center for New Works in Movement and Dance Theatre (MAD) creates and performs new movement-based work.

Founded as the Stella Adler Conservatory in 1949, the organization was known as Stella Adler Studio of Acting for many decades of growth and in 2019 transformed into the Stella Adler Center for the Arts.
Every summer, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting invites actors around the world to participate in Summer Intensive courses, in order to enhance their acting with world-class training and introduce them to the cultural capital of the world.

The history of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and its expansion into the Art of Acting Studio – Los Angeles and the Stella Adler Center for the Arts, includes not only Stella Adler but also bears inclusion of Konstantin Stanislavski, Jacob Adler, Harold Clurman and the Group Theater.
The full-time conservatory programs are the heart and soul of the Stella Adler Studio, the culmination of Stella’s vision for complete acting training. Since 1949, the Professional Conservatory has trained some of America’s most important actors and is considered one of the best in the nation.
The 3-Year Conservatory is the apex of all training programs at the Stella Adler Studio, with training that is equivalent to the top MFA programs in the nation.
The Stella Adler Studio of Acting is a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization. Stella Adler Studio is accredited with the National Association of Schools of Theatre.
