  2. In answer to Mr. Porter’s query, Brunswick School is still extant and proud of its connection with WSC. The school moved from Haywards Heath to a large country house, Dutton-Homestall, in Ashurst Wood, West Sussex in 1958. It was joined by Stoke House, formerly at Seaford, in 1963. It is now called Stoke Brunswick.

In 1882, as befitted his family’s wealth and social standing, Winston Churchill packed up his belongings and was shipped off to St. George’s boarding school a few weeks before his eighth birthday.
