The Great Waltz is a 1938 American biographical film based very loosely on the life of Johann Strauss II. It starred Luise Rainer , Fernand Gravet (Gravey), and Miliza Korjus . Rainer received top billing at the producer's insistence, but her role is comparatively minor as Strauss' wife, Poldi Vogelhuber.
1 ago 2008 · Johann Strauss was the son of a famous composer. He was born in Vienna, Austria in 1825. Johann Straus Senior was often known as the father of the waltz, and Strauss Junior was later dubbed the king of the waltz. Raised in Austria, Strauss did much of his composition in the latter half of the 19th century.

Blue Danube waltz - the first hit. Perhaps Strauss Jr.'s most famous work is the Blue Danube Waltz, actually entitled "On the beautiful, blue Danube".
