In some ways he isn't. He's the one taken advantage of. But this was filmed before #metoo (judging by Stanley Tucci's iPhone 3). While I give polite applause to the film, it's clear from reading the reviews here and witnessing the ratings that people just aren't buying it. Addison Timlin who plays Angela, the student in question, is pretty decent.
