13 apr 2024 · “Zooma Zooma Bacalla” was written by Prima and his wife Keely Smith as a tribute to Bacalà, a traditional Italian salt cod dish that was a favorite of Prima’s. The use of the phrase “bacalla” in the song is a reference to this dish, and the fun, nonsensical lyrics are a nod to the joyful, celebratory spirit of Italian culture.
