27 gen 2023 · Actress Sylvia Syms has passed away at the age of 89, her family have said. The former EastEnders star passed away peacefully at Denville Hall, a care home in London for those in the entertainment industry. Syms, who was born in Woolwich in 1934, had an illustrious career in TV and film that spanned more than six decades.
Biography. Syms was born Sylvia Blagman in Brooklyn, New York. As a child, she had polio. As a teenager, she went to jazz nightclubs on New York's 52nd Street and received informal training from Billie Holiday. She made her debut in 1941 at Kelly's Stable.
