The Sylvia Young Theatre School places great emphasis on high academic standards and on excellence in the performing arts. Our aim is to develop the whole person as well as providing a unique opportunity for students with potential in the performing arts to train and to perfect their skills.
Sylvia Young OBE (born 1939 in Hackney, London, England) is the founder and principal of Sylvia Young Theatre School in London, England.
Open day. The School Open Day tour for prospective parents & children will take place in; October 2024. Our school is unique in that the week is divided into two - Monday-Wednesday students follow their academic studies and Thursday-Friday students follow their vocational programme.
The Sylvia Young Theatre School aims to practice forms of assessment that: Promote and support learning. Informs teaching. Is both informative and summative. Uses appropriate and diverse strategies. Recognises pupil progress in all areas of the curriculum. Develops self-assessment for all members of the school.
