7 set 2016 · Zinaida's great-grandmother was Princess Tatiana. She was actually born as Tatiana Engelhardt into a family of an impoverished gentry in Smolenk, Russia named Vasily Engelhardt. Her mother was Martha Elena Alexandrovna Potemkin, sister of Grigory Potemkin, who would go down in history as a brilliant military leader, statesman and a lover of Catherine the Great.

Biografia. Tat'jana era l'ultimogenita del conte Alexander Ribaupierre, famoso diplomatico russo di origine svizzera, e di sua moglie, Ekaterina Michajlovna Potëmkina. Venne battezzata con il nome da sua nonna, la principessa Tatiana Engelhardt. Nata e cresciuta all'estero, studiò in casa.
Early life. She was born on 15 (26) June 1788 [3] [4] to Lieutenant General Mikhail Sergeevich Potemkin (1744-1791) and Tatiana Vasilievna Engelhardt (1767-1841) who was a niece of Grigory Potemkin. She was named after her godmother Catherine the Great. Not long after her birth, her father died, and her mother remarried Nikolai Yusupov in 1793.
