Tension was a Christian straight-edge hardcore punk band that formed in 1993. [2] History. In 1993, vocalist Mikey Hurley formed Tension, as a side project of his band Endure. [3] . Hurley hired Joe Keit of the Murrychesstoes on guitars and Chris Michaelis on drums.

Tension* started out in December of 1993 in Long Island’s flourishing hardcore and metal scene. Playing shows whenever they could and building a strong fanbase, Tension* starting amassing a legion of devoted fans that became like friends and family.

Pictured left to right: Michael Francis, Petio Petev, Billy Giddings, Tom Gattis. Split-up in 1988, but reunited in 2011, playing the 2012 Keep It True Festival in Germany.
