Melvins (sometimes the Melvins) are an American rock band formed in 1983 [1] in Montesano, Washington. Their early work was key to the development of both grunge and sludge metal. [2] Primarily a trio, they have also performed as a quartet, with either two drummers or two bassists.
Maynard James Keenan is best known as the singer of rock band Tool, with whom he has recorded five studio albums, A Perfect Circle, with whom he has recorded four studio albums, and Puscifer, a side project created by Keenan, has released three studio albums.

The Trilogy was released on vinyl by Ipecac Recordings on November 27, 2000 (IPC-011). With all of the trilogy CDs, the last track contains a small sample of the first track from the next release.
