10 ago 2013 · It was subsequently used for a BBC series called ‘The Dark Island’ in 1963, which was filmed on South Uist. Words were added later and it is now one of the most well-known Scottish songs. We play it as an instrumental, starting with solo violin and piano, building up a 3-part harmony on the violins and adding whistle on the final verse.
