15 gen 2022 · In the 1950s and early 60s, North Pole Road and surrounding area was a café-free zone. Teenagers could buy a bottle of pop from Kent’s and drink it hanging around a shop doorway, or venture into the North Pole pub or the Pavilion, feeling uncomfortably youthful amongst the regulars.
