Die Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre ist eine Schauspielschule in New York City. Gelehrt wird nach der von Sanford Meisner (1905–1997) erfundenen Meisner-Technik , wonach sowohl Schauspieltechnik als auch Gesang , Tanz , Stimmbildung und Bühnenkampf auf dem Lehrplan stehen.
In 1935, Meisner joined the faculty of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and continued as the Director of the Acting Department until his retirement in 1990, and served as Director Emeritus until his death in 1997. In 1928, The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre opened its doors.
