The New Tenants. The New Tenants is a 2009 short film (20 minutes) from Denmark, directed by Joachim Beck, written by Anders Thomas Jensen. Despite the fact that the film was made in Denmark, all the dialogue is in English. Pete and Frank are a gay couple who have just moved into their new apartment the day before.
It was a pretty decent watch from start to finish as the local neighborhood introduces themselves to the new tenants. This little film is really more about the supporting characters than the duo that is in here from start to finish, even if these supporting characters keep falling like flies. Or maybe because of that.
A prying neighbor, a glassy-eyed drug dealer, and a husband brandishing both a weapon and a vendetta make up the welcome wagon. Set amidst the as-yet-unopened boxes and the hopes for a fresh start of two men on what might just be the worst moving day ever.
