16 apr 2020 · I couldn’t tell you what Daniel Lanois brings to the party. The Pearl would fain foster its own inscrutable inkiness, leaving liner notes (like the music itself) to the imagination. There is an added element of noise in some cases (“Stream With Bright Fish”) that might be Lanois’ hand or not.
Released in August 1984 on Editions EG (catalog no. 823 162-1 Y; Vinyl LP). Genres: Ambient. Rated #29 in the best albums of 1984, and #2458 of all time album..
