The Straight Story is a 1999 biographical road drama film directed by David Lynch. It was edited and produced by Mary Sweeney, Lynch's longtime partner and collaborator, who also co-wrote the script with John E. Roach. It is based on the true story of Alvin Straight's 1994 journey across Iowa and Wisconsin on a lawn mower.

Prima che sia troppo tardi, decide di intraprendere un viaggio fino a Mount Zion, in Wisconsin, per incontrarlo.
Una storia vera ( The Straight Story) è un film del 1999 diretto da David Lynch . Si basa su un fatto realmente accaduto e racconta la storia di Alvin Straight, un contadino dell' Iowa che nel 1994, a 73 anni di età, intraprese un lungo viaggio a bordo di un trattorino rasaerba per andare a trovare il fratello reduce da un infarto.
