Ora sono costretta a fare un accostamento, che mai avrei voluto fare nella vita, ma purtroppo devo dirvi che il film si basa (anche se non è assolutamente vero, ve lo garantisco, perchè non ha niente a che vedere) su un riadattamento storico, rivisitato in chiave del tutto moderna: il racconto di fantasmi “Il giro di vite“ di Henry James.
